At Enable Southwest we believe that everyone has the capacity to contribute and that through the inclusion of all people communities are made stronger and richer.  The Enable Southwest Alternatives to Employment/Post School Options programs utilises this uniqueness in people as the starting point for creating individualised options of support. 

At Enable we recognise the need for individuals to be involved and connected in their community and the powerful influence of relationships.  Supports provided under our ATE/PSO program work towards achieving goals that reflect the unique and individual strengths, aspirations, needs, preferences, values and cultural identity of the individual.  Supports create opportunities that promote social participation, personal independence, lifelong learning and natural support networks.

Our staff are well connected with the local community and are available to support the inclusion of people into the activities/endeavors of their choice.  Enable Southwest is endorsed by the DSC as a provider of ATE/PSO and will work with individuals and families to develop a model of service that best meets their needs.

In many circumstances families of people with disabilities provide a high level of care and support to their loved ones which extends beyond their ongoing capabilities.  At these times Enable Southwest is able to assist families through the provision of individually tailored supports aimed at strengthening family’s capacity. 

Intensive family support funding provides people with disabilities and their families and opportunity to supplement the informal supports of family with services designed to meet their individual needs.  Supports provided place a strong emphasis on sustaining natural family relationships and providing opportunities for inclusion and growth in everyday community activities.

Enable Southwest recognises the uniqueness of families and the circumstances that contribute to their need for support and as a result approaches each new situation with a willingness for creativity, flexibility and responsiveness. 

Enable Southwest is endorsed by the DSC as a provider of Intensive Family Support and will work with individuals and families to develop a model of service that best meets their needs.

Enable Southwest works alongside individuals and families of people with disabilities to meet their individual accommodation needs by providing high quality and timely support.  Each option is individually tailored to meet the unique requirements of the person and is not based on predetermined models of support.  This person centered approach recognises that individuals and their families are key stakeholders and should be supported by quality systems that respond to their individual circumstances.  Supports provided place a strong emphasis on recognising individual’s skills and contributions and work to promote the inclusion of individuals in everyday community life.

Enable Southwest recognises that an individuals’ needs change over time and we aim to respond flexibly and rapidly in combining a "package" of support that best meets needs.

Enable is endorsed by the DSC as a provider of Accommodation Support Funding and will work with individuals and families to develop a model of service that best meets their needs.

Enable Southwest administers and coordinates a Respite Service provided via a brokerage model. Under this program grants to individuals and families are made to purchase individualised supports identified as part of the grant application.  Requests for support are made on an annual basis with no guarantee of ongoing funding being available. 

Supports under this program are typically family managed, have a respite effect for the primary caregiver and promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in community life.  Individual requests can be made direct to Enable Southwest or via your Local Area Coordinator (LAC).
